What do I acquire when I purchase a license?

When you purchase a font license for your project, you are only acquiring the right to use the font. No other rights are transferred under any circumstances; all remaining rights are retained by Osu! Fonts or by the original designer, as applicable.

Who should own the license?

The end customer in any case. If you are an agency or studio working on a project for a client, you can use your client's details at checkout.

Can I share the fonts with my providers?

Yes, as long as they are performing work for your company. Please read the EULA carefully for details on sharing fonts with your vendors.

How often is the license renewed?

Never. Your license is perpetual and does not require renewal, provided that you do not violate the terms and conditions described in the EULA.

Can I modify a font?

No, you are not allowed to modify, adapt, translate, reverse-engineer, or attempt to discover the source code of the font, nor to create derivative works from it. However, you may modify individual characters for your commercial projects—such as converting them to outlines and reshaping them when designing a logo. What you cannot do is alter the font file’s metadata or convert the font into another format.

Which formats Osu! Fonts offer?

We serve OTF, TTF, WOFF, and WOFF2 formats. We will offer Variable Fonts in the near future.

I want exclusive use of a font from your catalog.

Catalog fonts are commercial typefaces, which means their usage rights cannot be granted exclusively — doing so would violate the rights of previous users who have already obtained a license.

However, it is possible to create a customized version of the font, with redesigned features and/or new styles tailored to your project. This option is more affordable than commissioning a completely new type family from scratch.
